Deirdre is a qualified .b Teacher (Mindfulness for Adolescents) with the Mindfulness in Schools Project. .b is a fun, engaging and useful ten-session mindfulness course for young people, adapted from the adult courses Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction and Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy. It has been evaluated positively by the University of Cambridge and Oxford Brookes, and can be used in a wide range of contexts and age ranges.
Deirdre is a trained facilitator of the Sanctuary Mindful Warrior Programme that enables young people to travel a safe, mindful path on the journey from child to adult. The mindful warrior programme is the teaching of meditation and mindfulness practices to young people. The programme created by Brother Richard and Niamh Bruce of the Sanctuary is a ten week intensive course that seeks to bring the young people through a mindful meditative experience, modeled on the rites of initiation that are found in every traditional culture and spirituality, and the ancient philosophy of the Mindful Warrior as a person of awareness, compassion and peace. https://www.sanctuary.ie/product/the-sanctuary-mindful-warrior-facilitator-training-course/
Deirdre is also a facilitator at The Sanctuary , Dublin founded by Sr Stan and delivers Awareness Days which is part of the Sanctuary's youth program. The Awareness Day introduces young people to the Sanctuary’s approach to MINDFUL AWARENESS.
